LIP LINE - LIP TINT
This service can help improve the symmetry of your lips, enhance dull lips that lack pigment, help those with an indistinct lip line, and appear to temporarily heighten your lips to give more definition.
This learned semi-permanent makeup technique is from South Korea where they produce a more natural approach to lip blush (which has been traditionally done boldly in the states which appears as lip stick). This Korean beauty technique provides a softer, blurred, lip tint effect that gradually fades naturally over time leaving no unwanted trace of permanent makeup.

+Things to know before your appointment
We do not perform procedures that significantly deviate from the original shape of the lips or those requiring major corrections to the lip line or symmetry.
We work with the natural contours of your lips and avoid drastic enlargements or alterations. If you have personal concerns about asymmetry, please note that we cannot correct significant asymmetry or create overly full lips.
Swelling from the procedure might make the lips appear larger than they are.
Swelling will go down within 24 hours.
We cannot work with severely cracked lips or damaged lips.
Please ensure your lips are in the best possible condition before visiting to achieve optimal results. Start hydrating lips a week prior to ensure your lips are in the best condition.
Do not forcefully peel cracked lips up to 5 days before your appointment.
Please refrain from consuming any alcohol (especially red wine) or blood thinners (Motrin, Advil, ibuprofen, naproxen, fish oil, DHA supplements, cayenne supplements, turmeric, vitamin e, niacin, flax seed oil, coenzyme q10) at least 72 hours before your appointment. Please look up if any supplements or medications you are taking are blood thinners if not listed above. Bleeding does not usually occur but rarely when client has sensitivity prone skin, unhealthy skin barrier or blood thinning medication that will effect retention of color.
Color is based on the original lip color.
In the case for clients only looking for lip line if you have dark lips or uneven pigmentation of lips, adding a base option (lip tint) will even up the tone, resulting in making your lips look thicker and give you a more polished look. Please book lip line and lip tint as it would be considered a lip color correction. This applies to those who also have light/pale lips, lip line would not be suitable and would need to book lip tint as well.
Individual results differ while using semi-permanent colors.
On average color lasts for a year and may be shorter or longer depending on your skin type and life style.
Must wait 1 year after lip surgery, 8 weeks after lip filler, 4 weeks after botox.
30 days prior avoid glycolic acid, chemical peels, laser treatments, retinols, and strong anti-aging creams.
There is a possibility during your in-person style consultation that your desired results will not be possible.
Lip line procedures should be viewed as minor improvements, not to provide dramatic results.
Expect results that match your normal lip color, rather than significant changes, similar to “contour”.
Rather than creating a clear defined lip line, it will look more like you’ve applied a tinted transparent lip product.
Prior to booking an appointment we will need a clear up close photo of your bare lips and description of preferred outcome to determine which service is required to achieve your desired look.
If you have ever had a cold sore, been prone to any type of cold sores (herpes simplex virus) or you may have the herpes simplex virus that lies dormant in your system, this procedure could cause an outbreak. It is best to consult with your doctor and upon your doctor’s recommendation, take doctor-prescribed medication such as Acyclovir, Zovirax, or Valtrex before and after the lip procedure to help prevent or lessen the severity of an outbreak.
+after care
During the healing process your lips will be dry and flaky. Please apply a moisturizing stick lip balm thinly and frequently about every 15 minutes.
Day 1-3 : You may feel swelling and this is when the scabbing process begins making the lip line look prominent.
For the first 3 days avoid drinking alcohol and smoking as they can cause inflammation.
For the first 3 days be careful not to let food come in contact with the treated area while eating while avoiding spicy, salty, hot in temperature or any raw food.
For the first 3 days avoid any exercise that causes you to sweat above your upper lip.
Day 3-7 : As the scabs fall off, your lips may appear blotchy as there is new skin underneath, the color will gradually build up over time until it heals at 4 weeks. Do not peel or rub off the scabs.
For at least 1 week after your procedure, when cleansing your face do not let the cleanser come in contact with your lips.
For at least 1 week after your procedure, avoid using any lip products other than the stick lip balm and only apply a thin layer.
For at least 1 week after your procedure, absolutely avoid any contact and intimacy that can cause infections such as touching with any hands, tongue or other lips.
After peeling, pigmentation process can vary person to person. Your lips may appear back to normal at first and must wait up to 4 weeks for the injected color to appear again due to the skin regeneration cycle.
The peaks and sides of your lips may fade faster due to the nature of the skin in these areas. Touch ups may be more necessary in those conditions.
Depending on the individual, lips may heal 30% - 60% more lighter, touch ups may be required after 4 weeks and up to 12 weeks after your initial appointment for optimal retention.
For darker pigmented lips, even after toning them up, melanin produced in your body may make your lips go back to their true color. Over time and potential several sessions, melanin will stabilize and the injected pigment particles will rise from the basal layer of your skin to the upper epidermal layer and the color will look more like the lip procedure color applied.
It is a procedure that injects pigment with a needle so you have to think of it as a wound. Inflammation can occur during the healing process. Even if you don’t usually get blisters or sores, you may experience sores due to your immune system viewing it as “trauma” also it may trigger any underlying viruses. If any symptoms or infections occur please visit your medical provider to get diagnosed and follow their directed instructions.
+FAQs
Does it have a philtrum reduction effect?
We design the height of the upper lip (or the side) to a range that can be improved. Although the effect is not as dramatic as surgery, the small difference can provide enough satisfaction.
What is the lip over line range?
We can check during your in-person consultation. To further explain, it does not deviate much from the range of your lips, only based on vertical wrinkles. The wider the range of the over line, the more likely it is to develop inflammation in the future and the higher risk of unwanted pigment trace because it is the area where the sebaceous glands are developed. We are applying to the maximum extent that is safe.
What will be my lip color over time?
Lip line treatment is not a colorful pigment, but a pigment with low saturation close to the color of your own lips. Rather than discoloration, it is closer to fading over time and becoming lighter; however, due to the nature of semi-permanent makeup tattoos, trace may remain.
Won’ t the lip line become more prominent later?
We work with the natural lip color, considering after they peel and heal. To avoid it becoming more prominent later, we don’t do excessive lip over line.
